Mission

Our mission is by means of giving out our students a modern training having high quality at law, in order to have sparking lawyers beliving in the concept of rule of law and democracy, who are able to research, questioning, working hard, productive, sensible to universal law, respectfull to the principles of Atatürk, beside having a high knowledge of law and culture.

Vision

Our vision in accordance with our mission is to announce our name both in national or international platform more frequently than before, by the help of academical works and successes of our students, graduated from Law Faculty of Başkent University and to settle “Başkent Ecole” walking towards the front raws in this sector. Our basic approach in order to reach those goals directed by this vision is to raise the quality of law training system submitted to our students day by day.

About Faculty

The education in Faculty of Law began in the academic year at 1997-1998 academic year. Although there is a great demand in Turkey for law schools, in order to promote excellence in a contemporary and a statisfactory education and attract students of high quality, enrollment is limited. Some successfull students receive scholarships through the Student Placement Exam year by year The language of instruction is Turkish; however, to operate in the field of international area, students must learn English. Therefore, if their English is not satisfactory upon admission, they will attend the Preparatory School of English Language. The legal curriculum includes additional English language courses so that students may expand their professional vocabulary in four academic years. As modern education in law, besides knowledge in law, economics, management, accounting and international law, other electives will also be available in these areas. The Faculty has a “moot court” where students will debate law topics and exercise their theoric knowledge within a scenario. 
As in all educational programs, the quality of the teaching staff is of primary importance. Our faculty  includes lecturers widely recognized in the law branch.
 

Under these circumtances, our faculty aims to give a higher law education with the knowledge of at least one foreign language, broad culture, good computer skills and the ability of using economic and law knowledge when necessary.
